The province of Bukidnon has a lot of tourist spots and destinations to offer. If you're into high altitude, Mt. Kitanglad, Mt. Dulang-Dulang and Mt. Maagnaw are just three of the must hiked mountains in the province. If you want a combination of relax and extreme, Dahilayan Adventure Park is the perfect spot for you. And, if you just want to eat, Bukidnon is the fruit basket of Mindanao, so you can visit the Del Monte pineapple plantation or just simply go to the public market, for sure they have everything.

Bukidnon:  history, travel guide, list of tourist spots, how to get here, where to stay and budget.

Nasuli Cold Spring

 Matin-aw Cold Spring

After checking in at the Green Ridge Apartelle, I headed back to the highway and rode in a jeepney to two of the hidden spots in Malaybalay, the Nasuli Cold Spring and Matin-aw Cold Spring (photos above). A habal-habal is needed to visit these spots because they are located in a remote area on an adjacent location. Visitors can enjoy the cool, fresh and relaxing ambiance in the area. Plus, you cam make tampisaw into the crystal clear waters.

The Bukidnon Provincial Capitol

The Green Ridge Apartelle is near the capitol compound, so early in the morning, using Google Map, had my walking tour at the capitol building and to Kaamulan Park and Zoo where I met the animals that I usually see online and on TV. The area is surrounded with greens, the breeze is cool and the air is fresh and the landscape is instagrammable. By the way, the perfect time to visit Kaamulan Park and Zoo is in the morning and entrance fee is free.

The children's paradise at Kaamulan Park.

A colorful Peacock.

The playful tigers.

Me, mandatory selfie with the Lion.

From Green Ridge Apartelle, still using Google Maps, I walked on the streets to the bus terminal where I rode in a bus to Davao City (Ecoland Terminal). Malaybalay is highly urbanized, so no need to worry about transportation and places to stay. The people are friendly and good in providing instructions.

HOW TO GET HERE: From Manila, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines have regular trips to Laguindinga Airport in CDO. By the airport's entrance, ride in a van or bus to Cagayan de Oro City. In Agora Terminal, rode in a Van or bus to Malaybalay, Bukidnon.

WHERE TO STAY IN MALAYBALAY: For 550 pesos, had my overnight stay at Green Ridge Apartelle (visible on Google Maps) near the capitol compound. From Gaisano Mall, using Google Maps, I walked on the streets to Green Ridge.
