About

The Bangui Windmills is a place that converts wind energy into electrical energy, yet it is one of the top tourist attractions in Ilocos Norte. This wind farm has 20 units of 70-meter-high wind turbines, stretching along the 99-kilometer shoreline of Bangui Bay and facing the West Philippine Sea, and each of the turbines is 326 meters apart. Read my Ilocos Norte Travel Guide to know how to get here and a list of the nearby tourist spots.

Location

Bangui Windmills are located along the shores of Bangui Bay in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Northern Luzon. These iconic wind turbines line the coast, offering scenic views and a popular photo stop for tourists traveling through the Ilocos Region.

How to Get There

From Laoag City, you can take a bus, van, or private vehicle heading north to Bangui via the Pan-Philippine Highway (AH26). Travel time is around 1.5 to 2 hours.

Once in Bangui town proper, ride a tricycle to the windmill site—about 5 kilometers away—fare usually ranges from ₱100–₱150.

From Pagudpud, Bangui is just a 20-minute drive south. You can join a South Pagudpud Tricycle Tour (₱600–₱800) that includes Bangui Windmills, Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, and Patapat Viaduct.

If you’re driving your own vehicle, follow the signs along the Laoag–Claveria Road (AH26) and look out for markers pointing to “Bangui Wind Farm” or “Bangui View Deck.”
