Ilocos Norte Tourist Spots
Pagudpud
Pagudpud (photo above) is definitely one of the top tourist destinations in Ilocos Norte. Situated at the Northern tip of Luzon, Pagudpud is one of the top tourist attractions and destinations in the province. It also claims the title: "Boracay of the North" - that's according to the tourists and travelers who experienced its beauty. This paradise has a similarity with Boracay, from the white sand shoreline to the crystal clear waters of the Blue Lagoon, to the relaxing and cool sea breeze, to the golden sunset, up to the remarkable activities during the day and parties in the evening.

Bangui Windmills
The Bangui Windmills are installed along the shoreline of Bangui Bay, Ilocos Norte. It was considered the largest wind farm in Southeast Asia. There are a total of 20 large wind turbines, and each turbine has three rotor blades. This wind farm produces 50% of the electricity consumption of the province. Aside from the electricity supply being harnessed, this wind farm is certified Eco-friendly and promotes environmental sustainability by producing less carbon compared to other power generators around the world. Aside from that, the Bangui wind farm is also one of the tourist attractions and destinations in Ilocos Norte, which brings work and income to the locals.
Cape Bojeador Lighthouse
The Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, commonly known as Burgos Lighthouse, is a 65-foot lighthouse situated on top of the Vigia de Nagpartian Hill. It was designed by Magin Pers and Pers and was built in 1887, but was first lit on March 30, 1892, to guide the seafarers passing by the waters of Ilocos Norte. Today, Cape Bojeador, or Burgos Lighthouse, is one of the attractions and destinations in Ilocos Norte.
Kapurpurawan Rock Formation
The Kapurpurawan Rock Formation is a limestone formation located along Bangui Bay. Because of the pressure of the waves and the acidity of the water, the limestone by the hill was shaped into something artistic. Today, it is known as one of the famous landmarks and attractions.
Paoay Church
Paoay Church is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines and was one of the sites listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1993. This historical church has an impressive and stunning structural design. In front, it has a combination of baroque, Gothic, and oriental designs. On the side, 24 large buttresses serve as a backup and support the church's foundation against earthquakes and other calamities. Inside the church, there's a golden altar with St. Augustine in the center. Don't forget that its bell tower served as the watch tower of the Katipuneros during the Spanish period.
Paoay Sand Dunes
Paoay Sand Dunes is another thrilling spot. No passport or no budget, but want to experience the sand in the Middle East? Paoay Sand Dunes is for you! The sand area stretches from Currimao to Pasuquin, a wide area that can accommodate a lot of tourists and visitors. It is composed of plain sand, and with the help of the wind, different dunes, slopes, and waves are formed. You can rent a 4 X 4 and drive through the slopes and hills of the sand.
