About Britania Group of Islands
The Britania Group of Islands in San Agustin, Surigao del Sur, is one of Mindanao’s most stunning hidden gems. Composed of 24 small islands and islets, each boasting powdery white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters, Britania offers a tropical escape that rivals the country’s top beach destinations. From island hopping adventures to relaxing under the sun, it’s a perfect haven for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts alike.
Its are like huge boulders dropped into the water, and the fine white sand exploded from the sea bed. Every islet is surrounded by crystal clear waters and fine white sand. There are several islets, but we only reached a few because of the high tide. If you're in Surigao del Sur, add this group of islands to your bucket list.
Islets of Britania
Hagonoy Island
Hagonoy Island is one of the small islets; maybe it is just a hundred meters long, but it has a fine white sand shore and is surrounded by crystal clear and cool waters. Hagonoy is an islet with a few coconuts and trees, so expect a darker skin tone after your visit because of the sun rays.
Naked Island
Experience this naked paradise at the Naked Island. I know you’re thinking of something green, but you're wrong. Its name is derived from its characteristic – naked, which means nothing can be found on this islet, just a stretch of fine white sand, and it is also small, more or less 10 meters. The Naked Island only appears at low tide.
Boslon Island
Walk with happiness on the fine white sands that cover the islet. Boslon Island is like a huge boulder dropped in the water, because of the pressure, the fine white sand exploded. Well, that’s only my own story. Anyways, Boslon is circular, with the plants and trees hanging on top of the gigantic boulder, creating a cool atmosphere in the area. This islet is the usual "pahingahan" of the tourists. Very conyo no?
Hiyor-hiyoran Island
Hiyor-hiyoran Island is also called the souvenir island because, among the islands, it is the only one with souvenir shops built on the beach. Well, that's so far. Same as the other islands, Hiyor-hiyoran also has fine white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and gorgeous limestone formations. Very Instagrammable.
