My name is Darwin Dalisay, you can call me Dharzie from Romblon. Previously, a part-time movie extra, now a full-time BPO employee and I love traveling. A Finisher of 82 Provinces in the Philippines title was given to me after completing all 82 on February 16, 2025. This milestone was validated by the Pinoy History Facebook Page.
Sirang Lente Description
Sirang Lente is a Filipino word that means “a defective lens,” which refers to my camera lens. I know you’re wondering why I'm writing and proud to have such a defective lens, correct?
Why Sirang Lente
It was in 2012 when I started hiking and backpacking. At that time, I didn’t have anything expensive, like DSLR cameras, to capture high-quality photos or even knowledge of photo editing. What I had was an old 5-megapixel Digital camera and a Nokia C3 phone with a 3.2-megapixel camera. They both have cracks on the LCD, so I thought they had defective lenses, but after transferring the photographs to my laptop, the images were beautiful. That's when I realized that there could be beauty in defects; it all depends on perspective. To make it unique, I named my blog as Sirang Lente.
The purpose of Sirang Lente is to list down the beautiful tourist spots, attractions, and destinations found in all places I visited, upload great photos (must be raw and may not be of high quality), and tell my stories. I may not have perfect grammar, but I do believe that: “learning is constant, and practice makes permanent!”
