My Itinerary in Southern Leyte
This is Day 6 – Solo-Backpacking in Region 8 - 6 Provinces for 6 Days
My Day 6 started at the UV Express Terminal in Naval, Biliran. Since there was no direct route to Maasin City, I rode in a van bound for Ormoc City and alighted at the integrated terminal. Travel time was about 2 hours. Then, looked for the van bound for Maasin. While waiting for the departure, I took a lunch break at the carinderia at the same terminal. Then, Ormoc to Maasin is about 3 hours. Alighted at the Integrated Terminal. Instead of riding a tricycle, I walked on the streets, following Google Maps, to Maasin Cathedral.
It was 3 PM when I looked for a place in the City. While still using Google Maps, I found the GV Hotel, which is just a few meters from the cathedral. I stayed at GV in Catbalogan City so chose it again today because it's one of the cheapest places to stay in. When everything was settled, I proceeded to the room and rested. It was around 6 PM when I headed to Jollibee for an early dinner. Bought some supplies like food and water. Headed back to GV. Rested and bathed. Relaxed and slept. I lacked time, so I was unable to visit the other gorgeous attractions in the Province.
The next day, it was early in the morning when I had breakfast in Jollibee again. I planned to experience their local delicacies, but no restaurant was open yet. I need rice and coffee to complete my day, so I thought fast food was the perfect place. Ah, actually, had no choice. 😪 The wind in the city in the morning was cold. Went back to my room. Bathed. Prepared my stuff. I used Google Maps and walked on the streets to the terminal. Rode in a van bound for Tacloban City. Travel time was over 3 hours.
When we passed by the BIR and Campetic, I shouted, "Kuya, PARA!! I was even shocked by the way I shouted. 😝 Maybe because of excitement? And there, he stopped. I got out of the van and rode in a jeepney to McArthur Landing Memorial Park. Not so happy with my photos taken at the park on Day 3, so I took many photos and then rode in a tricycle back to Campetic. Had lunch at the carinderia. Rode in a jeepney to Robinsons. Rode in a jeepney to the Airport. This is the end of Solo-Backpacking in Region 8. Arrived in Manila safely.
