Solo Backpacking in Davao de Oro
It's Day 6! Due to its proximity to Davao City, I had a cutting trip in Tagum City, where I stayed in WBC Lodge, which is one of the cheapest places to stay near the Capitol building. Early in the morning (first trip), I rode a Bachelor Bus and alighted at the Monkayo Central Terminal. Travel time was almost 2 hours. Had a short break for brunch, then chartered a habal to Awao Falls. Travel time was 1-2 hours. Paid 1000 pesos for back and forth. Then, rode a bus back to Davao City, where I stayed overnight. How to Get to Awao Falls
Book a flight to Davao. Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Air Asia, and other carriers have regular trips to Davao City. From the airport, take a taxi to Ecoland Bus Terminal, where you can take a bus ride to Monkayo and other parts of the Davao region. Usually, buses bound for Butuan City pass by the Davao de Oro terminal.
