Featuring Agusan del Sur - Solo-Backpacking in Mindanao

It was Day 7 when I  visited the beautiful Province of Agusan del Sur. The province doesn't have coastal areas, so the only purpose of my visit was to discover the stunning Bega Falls. Its name is derived from a local word, "Bega", which literally translates to "flirt" in English. According to the local folk story, the area is the home of the mystical women. One that is sure, Bega Falls, is picture-perfect because of its majestic landscape. From the crystal clear waters free flowing from the towering limestone cliffs carpeted with ferns and mosses. The strong water pressure created a natural pool at the base that serves as a swimming pool.

Introduction:

So far, traveling to the provinces in Regions 12, 13, and part of the BARMM is the most expensive trip. Again, that's so far. Nonetheless, this part of Mindanao is one of the great tourist destinations in the Philippines. There are fine white sand beaches, gigantic waterfalls, lakes, historical sites, and many more.

I can still remember the classic words like Fujifilm, AGFA as endorsed by Aga Mulach, analog/film camera, rewind, pa-develop, pa re-copy, wag buksan baka ma-expose and many others. It was in 2002 when I was able to use and capture a picture using my friend's digital camera. After fifteen years, here were are with the touch screen technology, hundred Millimeter lenses, filters, image stabilizers, underwater capabilities, more memory, and of course the latest which is the flying capabilities.
