About Maasin Cathedral
Maasin Cathedral, officially the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, is the seat of the Diocese of Maasin in Southern Leyte. It is one of the oldest churches in the Visayas, originally established by Spanish missionaries in the 1700s. The cathedral is a prominent landmark in Maasin City and a major pilgrimage site in Eastern Visayas.
