About Danao Adventure Park
Located in the heart of Bohol’s rugged landscape, Danao Adventure Park is a haven for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike. It’s one of the top eco-tourism destinations in the Philippines, combining adventure, sustainability, and natural beauty. The park sits in the municipality of Danao, a few hours away from Tagbilaran City, surrounded by lush greenery, cliffs, and the scenic Wahig River.
Its most famous attraction, The Plunge, is one of the highest canyon swings in Asia — a free-fall experience that will literally take your breath away. Aside from this, visitors can enjoy caving, river tubing, rappelling, ziplining, and other outdoor adventures designed for both beginners and hardcore adventurers.
Historically, situated in the area where the longest Philippine Revolutionary Movement took place, led by Francisco Dagohoy, a Boholano hero. The boulders and limestone formations in the area might have witnessed the most important stage of how these Boholano heroes plotted the revolution against the Spaniards. Today, the facility is being run by the local government, and it is a center of eco-tourism, recreation, and adventure in the province awaiting discovery.

How to Get There
From ICM, Tagbilaran City, I rode a van bound for Danao (approximately 2–3 hours). From Danao Public Market, I chartered a habal-habal (motorcycle) going to Danao Adventure Park, about 8 kilometers away. Alternatively, you can take a bus, or you can join guided tours that include round-trip transportation and activity packages.
My Actual Itinerary
From Siquijor, I had a two-hour ferry ride to Tagbilaran Port. At the port, I rode a tricycle to the terminal beside Island City Mall (ICM). Then, rode in a Danao-bound van and alighted at the Poblacion. Lastly, a habal ride to the Adventure Park.
Upon getting off the motorcycle, I heard a warm "Good Afternoon, Sir!!" from the employees, the guard on duty, and the receptionists. It was already past four in the afternoon, so the activity areas were already closed. As planned, I checked in for an overnight stay and did the activities the next day. While heading to my room, I noticed the area was quiet, surrounded by hardwood trees, and the wind was cool and fresh - a perfect place to relax. It was a long, tiring day, so I ended it with a sumptuous dinner at their cafeteria.
And the next day came - the most awaited day. When I was creating my itinerary for Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Bohol two months ago, I placed Jumping off The Plunge at the top of my list. The Plunge Fee: 750 Pesos. This might change without prior notice. I made sure that it would be done. And this is it; when the activity area opened at 8 AM, I walked on the concrete road from my room and headed directly to its platform. The activity facilitators greeted and encouraged me to try this canyon swing. I didn't feel any pressure, so I tried it without any hesitation, and the result is the video below.

After the activity, I tidied up and packed my stuff. When I checked out, the receptionist awarded me a certificate for performing the remarkable jump. They also contacted a habal driver who brought me to the van terminal bound for Tagbilaran City. My experience at Danao Adventure Park was great, and I give it a 9 out of 10 rating.
