About Batad Rice Terraces
Tucked deep in the mountains of Banaue, Batad Rice Terraces is one of the most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Philippines. Often described as an “amphitheater of rice fields,” its curved terraces showcase the ingenuity of the Ifugao people, carved entirely by hand over 2,000 years ago. Unlike its more accessible counterparts, Batad remains remote and traditional — a place where time slows down, and nature and culture exist in perfect harmony.
