You might be thinking about the location where this photo was taken; I have no money to travel abroad, so it's not from ancient Greece or Rome. It is one of the tourist spots and must must-visit attraction in Manila. Okay, it is from Intramuros or the "Walled City," one of the sites that has significance in Philippine history. I was captivated by the Intramuros Open House in Celebration of World Tourism Day. Entrance fees are free on three of the must-visit spots inside the walled city; these are Fort Santiago, Baluarte de San Diego, and Casa Manila. Not only that, there are free bicycle tours at Plaza Roma, and a picnic with performance grounds, food, and art at Baluarte de San Diego.

Intramuros, Manila

About Intramuros
Intramuros, the historic “Walled City” of Manila, stands as a living reminder of the Philippines’ Spanish colonial past. Built in the late 1500s, this fortified district once served as the political, religious, and educational center of Spanish Manila. Today, its cobblestone streets, stone walls, and centuries-old churches transport visitors back in time, offering a captivating blend of history, culture, and architecture. A stroll through Intramuros feels like stepping into a different era—where every corner tells a story of resilience and heritage.
