Best Lechon Kawali |
Eating pork is not a priority for
me, due to health and religious purposes; I still prefer fish, chicken and beef
deli. But almost a year ago, I and my friends discovered a restaurant at the
back side of a wet market in Cainta, Rizal, who serves lechon kawali that we can’t resist.
As in, we’re here daily!
Photo above shows how sumptuous
this lechon kawali is. The skin is yellow-ish and looks so mouth watering. When
I had my first bite, I easily noticed its texture and I was so amazed by its
crunchiness.
First layer is crunchy, second
layer is thin layer of fat which is talagang
natutunaw sa loob ng bibig. And last later is the tasteful laman.
The resto uses a commercial
lechon sauce, unlike other restaurants that has their own formula, Mang
Larry (owner) made something that the
taste of their lechon kawali would match with the taste of sauce.
This is not a fancy
restaurant, it is a carinderia which makes it special.
How to Get Here: If you’re from
Manila or Edsa area, you can take a ride in G-Liner, RRCG, Greenstar, FX and or
jeepneys bound for Cainta or Antipolo. Alight in Robinsons Cainta (or Big R).
Cross the foot bridge and proceed to the market area, at the back side of the
Ready To Wear stores.
