Abra Tourist Spot

1. Kaparkan Falls

Social media sites and travel blogs helped Kaparkan Falls become one of the top destinations in the North. It is situated in the Municipality of Tineg, Province of Abra, part of the Cordillera Administrative Region. Traveling from Manila to Bangued, the province's capital, is more than 8 hours. Plus, another 2 -3 hours off-road to Sitio Kaparkan - the jump-off of Kaparkan Falls. As I always say: "time is just a number," but the reward will be a breathtaking and stunning body of water - the majestic Kaparkan Falls!

Lignon Hill

Lignon Hill has a beautiful landscape and a 360-degree view of Legaspi City and Mt. Mayon. By the way, after Daraga Church, we headed to this stunning place. Kuya Lijong dropped us by the entrance, and we settled the payment, but he left. Instead of a continuous ascent, we had a buko break first. Relaxed and regained the fluid we lost. The road to the summit is concrete and surrounded by hardwood trees, so the ambiance while we were walking was relaxing, with the cold wind blowing. And after 30 minutes, we finally reached the summit. Beautiful landscape and a 360-degree view of Legaspi City and the hiding Mt. Mayon. Commercial establishments such as souvenir shops and food stalls are available. By the way, restrooms are also available. READ: BACKPACKING ALBAY, SORSOGON, CATANDUANES

Mt. Mayon

Mt. Mayon is prominent worldwide because of its shape - a perfect cone; having said that, it's definitely the top tourist spot in Albay. According to its historical plate: "The spiritual administration of Cagsawa from 1587 to 1595 was under the Parish of Camalig. An early church was burned on 25 July 1636 by the Dutch, who ransacked the towns bordering Legaspi Bay. This church was built after 1724 by Fray Francisco Blanco. D.F.M. was buried by rocks and lava during the eruption of Mayon Volcano on 1 February 1814. The authorities of Cagsawa, meeting at Ligao, on 6 July 1814, decided to incorporate their town as part of Daraga. The first centenary of the destructions of the church was commemorated 1 February 1914, with a huge pilgrimage to the ruins where high mass was celebrated."

Mt. Samat

It is a historical mountain in Bataan where the Shrine of Valor or Dambana ng Kagitingan was built on its summit. This shrine has a huge cross with a memorial shrine and museum built to honor the gallantry of the Filipino American soldiers who fought during World War 2. The shrine complex on Mount Samat includes a war museum with different memorabilia, paintings, and weapons used by the Filipino, American, and Japanese forces during the Battle of Bataan. These structures were commissioned by former President Ferdinand Marcos in 1966 for the 25th Anniversary of the Second World War. Also, please note that the province holds the record of the Battle of Bataan, including the controversial Death March.

Mt. Batulao

It is one of the most climbed mountains in Southern Luzon because of its beautiful landscape and cool and relaxing ambience. Plus, a two to three-hour land travel from Manila, Mt. Batulao, can reward you with a breathtaking and wide view of its green mountain slopes. Your trek can be tiring, but your tired muscles will be relaxed as the cool and refreshing wind blows.

Tarak Ridge (Mt. Mariveles)

This mountain has a good combination of breathtaking beauty, an elegant skyline, cool and temperate weather, and abundant flora and fauna, making it one of the hiker's top destinations in Bataan. By the way, it was my first major hike, and after five years, I am here again. Our journey is totally different because last time, it was the wet season, and this time, it was super dry.

Mt. Banahaw

It is an active complex volcano located in Quezon Province. Dubbed as the "Holy Mountain," this giant bears a trail with a very calm ambience. To plant more trees, that's the main purpose of our hike. We chose this mountain because we want to preserve its hidden and majestic beauty. Though it is hard to trek due to its terrain, which is a rainforest, it is one of the most hiked mountains because it has healthy biodiversity, both plants and animals. Nonetheless, reaching the summit and heading back to the jump-off can give you a lifetime and unforgettable experience.

Mt. Halcon

It has a combination of long and difficult terrains, a wealthy rain forest, a vast diversity of plants and animals, spooky stories, and unpredictable weather conditions, which can bring a remarkable hiking experience (the reason why it's my hardest). So far, hiking Mt. Halcon in Oriental Mindoro is the toughest. Though this mountain garnered a nine over nine rating in terms of difficulty, it is part of my "list of the must hiked mountains" because of its hidden and majestic beauty.

Mt. Pulag

Mt. Pulag is one of the highest peaks in the Philippines, measuring 2,922 MASL. It is also one of the most beautiful mountains in the Philippines; therefore, you should include this in your list. On the other hand, on its summit, hikers can witness the famous “sea of clouds," a majestic phenomenon where visitors are literally above the clouds.

Mt. Mantalingahan

It is a mountain that is a bit challenging, but you will be rewarded with amazing views from the summit, cool weather, and a remarkable experience. Mt. Mantalingajan, or Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape, is situated in Rizal, Palawan, and it is more than 4 hours' travel from Puerto Princesa City. Since Manta (another name given) is located in a secluded municipality, its beauty remains hidden from many hikers. Thus, its richness is well preserved.

Mt. Hapunang Banoi - Hike Guide You Need To Know

Mt. Hapunang Banoi
Mt. Hapunang Banoi is a dwarf and a hiking-friendly mountain in Montalban, Rizal, that can give you a tantalising view of nature's beauty. Together with Pamitinan and Binacayan, this mountain is one of the most hiked mountains in the area because it is also surrounded by Lucius green trees, which makes the area look relaxing. Plus, the exhilarating terrains added an adventure for hikers. In the centre of these mountains is Wawa Dam, a water reservoir built by the Americans. This area was chosen because it's a catch basin for the three mountains.

Mt. Tibig (Hiking Guide and Itinerary)

Mt. Tibig
This mountain offers a relaxing trek because of its trails and gorgeous picturesque on the summit. With reggae music in the background, the stunning mountain ranges, covered with greens, will definitely make your eyes relaxed while the fresh and cool wind will help your soared muscles recover - such a perfect place for bonding. Also, accessibility from Manila is super check because it is situated in Lobo, Batangas, a two to three hours land travel from the metro. Plus, hiking for one to two hours, you can easily reach the summit of Mt. Tibig.
